OpenProfit vs Baremetrics
Baremetrics is hosted subscription analytics with add-ons for failed-payment recovery, cancellation insights and forecasting. OpenProfit is an open-source dashboard that pulls your revenue and your costs from the services you use, then shows profit for every product you run.
Both show MRR. They part ways on costs: Baremetrics brings in expenses from your accounting software on its top plan, while OpenProfit reads them straight from the providers that bill you.

Where Baremetrics is stronger
- Subscription analytics. Churn, cohorts, customer-level detail and benchmarks.
- Recovery and retention tools. Dunning for failed payments and cancellation surveys, sold as add-ons.
- Forecasting. A full P&L, balance sheet and cash flow model fed by your accounting software.
- App stores. It reads Apple App Store and Google Play revenue today.
Where OpenProfit is different
- No bookkeeping step. Costs arrive from the providers' own billing data, the day they happen, without an accountant categorizing them first.
- Usage costs by project. An OpenAI project or a Vercel project maps to the product it serves, so the margin is per product, not per company.
- Open source. Run it on your own server, read the code, add a connector.
Which one fits
If you sell subscriptions, need churn analysis and recovery tools, and have books in QuickBooks or Xero, Baremetrics covers more of that. If your biggest costs are AI tokens and hosting and you want to see each product's margin today, OpenProfit is built for that.
